With so many folks looking for affordable housing, I am re-posting a blog post I did last year that offers 15 ways to find a rental home:

Search your local Multiple Listing Service (MLS).
Search JWB Rental Homes. (www.jwbrentalhomes.com)
Search Invitation Homes. (www.invitationhomes.com)
Search Progress Residential. (www.rentprogress.com)
Search American Homes for Rent. (www.ah4r.com)
Search Facebook Market Place. (www.facebook.com/marketplace)
Search Zillow. (www.Zillow.com)
Search Craigslist. (www.Craigslist.org)
Search Nextdoor. (www.Nextdoor.com)
Hire a local Realtor who does property management.
Ask your Realtor to look at "expired" rental listings.
Research aging "for sale" listings, maybe they will rent?
Research aging "for sale by owner" listings, maybe they will rent?
Drive the area where you want to rent and look for "rent" or "for sale" signs. Call the number and ask if they will rent.
Post on your social media that you are looking for a rental home.
Good luck in your search!
